City Guide #2 Water City from Property Of… on Vimeo.

Amsterdam is definitely a highlight of any tour of Europe, and if you’ve got free time in the city, why not head to the canals? Sometimes called the ‘Venice of the North’, Amsterdam has more than 100km of canals, many of which were dug during the 17th Century – the ‘Dutch Golden Age.’ The three main canals – Prinsengracht, Herengracht and Keizersgracht form concentric rings around the city. Along with ‘Jordaan’, these canals have been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. And the same goes for many of the monuments that line the canals. It’s a great way to see the city, and with tips like the ones supplied in the video, you’ll have no shortage of other things to do either!
