With natural beauty and a huge range of man-made delights, Budapest has long been one of our favourite destinations. Get a glimpse of the city today in our video of the week!

Budapest Cityscape from Joe Simon Films on Vimeo.

An architectural treasure, Budapest boasts baroque, neoclassical and art nouveau styles. But the delights are in the detail – look out for quirky and interesting details to each one, whether they’re intentional (glazed tiles or bas-reliefs) or accidental (bullet-holes, shrapnel markings and the like.) Although the city is scarred by conflicts that took place during the mid-twentieth century, there are also signs of hope and reconciliation if you’re prepared to look for them.

Take the time to explore the city’s hot springs and mineral springs, and investigate Hungarian cuisine (apparently enjoying something of a revival after the fall of Communism). Budapest has something to delight travellers from all over the world – explore it and share your experience with us!
