What Are Expat Explore Discovery Tours?
As Expat Explore continues to expand our long list of group tour destinations, our team gets the opportunity to explore new places. We invite you to join these trips, named "Discovery Tours". They provide the opportunity to discover new destinations, test out new itineraries, and be a part of the first tours in new regions.
As it’s our first trip to a region, and includes some of our valued repeat customers, often one or even both of Expat Explore's co-founders, Jakes Maritz and Carl Cronje, will join the adventure.
About Our Last Discovery
Our last Discovery Tour led us to uncover the many magical sights of Morocco! Located in North Africa, this gem of a destination comprises history, culture, iconic architecture and idyllic landscapes. This vibrant country boasts a variety of travel experiences to add to your bucket list. From dreamy desert landscapes and coastal gems to bustling cities and ancient ruins, Morocco is a feast for the senses.
Co-founder Jakes Maritz and Tour Leader & Brand Ambassador Luke Watson joined a group of Expat Explore travellers and team members on a Morocco Discover Tour in May 2024. Everyone was blown away by the beauty of this captivating country and, thanks to this Disovery Tour, our Highlights of Morocco tour is now available to book and seats are selling fast!

Discovering Japan
In September 2022, excited travellers embarked on a Discovery Tour of the Highlights of Japan along with co-founders Jakes Maritz and Carl Cronje. We were one of the first companies to journey to Japan after the pandemic!
Thanks to the Discovery group which embarked on that first exploration, travellers from around the world can also take part in this expertly curated tour and experience the charming attractions, cherry blossoms, delicious cuisine and one-of-a-kind highlights. Today, Highlights of Japan is a staple tour that's become a favourite to many.
From ancient temples and modern skyscrapers to neon lights and time-honoured traditions, Japan showcases the meeting of old and new better than anywhere else in the world!

What Do We Need From Discovery Travellers?
Simply put, we need your honest feedback about the tour! Once you have experienced the destination, we ask you to share your opinions on the overall experience; including the itinerary, accommodation, tour leaders, food, activities and optional excursions.
You’ll be asked to leave a written review at the end of the tour. Kindly note that we will utilise images and footage taken on tour for promotional purposes, so those who join consent to being featured on our blog and/or social media channels. All of your feedback will help ensure that we offer the best tour possible.
